I created this resume website because I wanted to show I am an out-of-the-box thinker through action. My story is more than what I can put on a resume and I wanted a way to more effectively communicate to employers who I am.
In my early 20s, I was pursuing my MBA. While doing this, I built a successful wedding photography business with a retail location in Plano, Texas that I later sold. I went on to develop a product line of 300 products of photographic equipment for a successful start-up company. I have advised and consulted several small startup organizations on developing strategies and implemented these strategies across several industries. I have consulted in management and marketing for industries such as cybersecurity, manufacturing, SaaS, recruitment, e-Commerce, and hospitality services. I have advised city officials and organizations on linking start-ups to scale-ups to collaborate and thrive.
I persevered academically until I achieved my Doctorate in Management in 2018. During my doctorate, I was working concurrently as a professor teaching business undergraduate and MBA courses to the US deployed military in Asia and Europe for the University of Maryland- Global Campus.
Additionally, I have published research and presented at conferences globally. Some of the topics I have presented are Data-Driven Decision-Making, Disruptive Innovation, Internet of Things (IoT), Sustainable Design, Big Data, Co-Creative Innovation. I also served on a panel as a subject matter expert in linking academics to practitioners.
I grew up in Kansas. My parents divorced before I was 4 and by middle school, I was removed from my family and put into foster care. My parents' rights did get taken away and at 17 I got emancipated so that I could attend college. While I did not get to choose how my childhood life unfolded, I didn’t let this deter my personal decisions to overcome various obstacles in my life (thanks to lots of therapy!) to shape a successful future for myself. Although this doesn't define me, it is an attestation of my journey and what I can do in life.
I moved to Texas at 20 where I feel the most at "home". Although Texas is also my current home address, it is not where I currently reside. In 2020, I bought a 43' Toyhauler and I travel around the US exploring places a month at a time with my dog and 2 cats. We have been to 12 states in 16 months!
Before I started this most recent adventure, I lived overseas in Japan, Italy, UK, and Germany. While living in both Europe and Asia, I traveled to over 70 countries. I am rove at heart and love life experiences, people, and animals. I am empathetic and I want to leave a positive impact on the world.
If I am not a fit for your organization, I hope that my story has inspired you personally in some way to take chances, live life, love hard, believe in yourself, explore, and encouraged you to get out and live your best life, whatever that looks like to you.
“Here’s to the crazy ones. The misfits. The rebels. The troublemakers. The round pegs in the square holes. The ones who see things differently. They’re not fond of rules. And they have no respect for the status quo. You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify or vilify them. About the only thing you can’t do is ignore them. Because they change things. They push the human race forward. And while some may see them as the crazy people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world, are the ones who do.” -Steve Jobs
